New type of scorpion discovered in Saudi Arabia

The National Center for Wildlife Breeding in Saudi Arabia has said that a new species of scorpion has been discovered in the protected national forest, which has been named after the area.

According to the Saudi news agency SPA, the National Wildlife Center said on its X account that the Hizb scorpion is large in size. It belongs to the Buthidae family of scorpions and has a length of 66-113 mm.

The National Center pointed out that the color of the scorpion is yellow. It has black marks on its back. This type of scorpion is found in Saudi Arabia. 'Majami al-Hazb' has been discovered in protected national forest and has been registered accordingly.

The national center said that these scorpions hide under rocks in densely grassy valleys, burrow into animal burrows during the day and come out in search of prey at night.

It should be noted that Majami Al-Hazb National Forest is located in the east of Rania city in Makkah region. Where there are volcanoes with gray colored rocks.
